    • At the February 2017 IEEE OU Meeting Series, the Technical Activities Board approved a new TAB Committee on Diversity and Inclusion. This committee will report to the TAB Strategic Planning Committee (SPC). To ensure geographic diversity and regional representation, the committee will be comprised of five members selected from Regions 1-6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. The Committee on Diversity and Inclusion is tasked with developing strategies to increase engagement of ALL under-represented groups in TAB Societies and Technical Councils, and across other entities within Technical Activities. While the committee is currently identifying groups that are underrepresented within the IEEE, its preliminary focuses will include strategic engagement of underrepresented minorities, women, and those attending institutions of higher education such as historically black colleges and universities, junior colleges, and state schools. The committee will also seek to ensure regional diversity across IEEE OUs.
